A Layout for the New Millennium

As you can see elsewhere on the site, our last two exhibition layouts have both been "might-have-beens" set in the north of England. Our current project is a scale (well, almost) model of the London Chatham and Dover Railway's terminus at Blackfriars Bridge, the site of which is now largely occupied by the Daily Express building.

Right now we are only starting to build the baseboards, but the images on this page give a flavour of things to come. As work progresses, new pictures and update reports will be posted.

The period of the layout is around 1880, and consequently most of the rolling stock will have to be scratchbuilt. The club will be producing a range of etched brass coach kits in conjunction with Roxey Mouldings, representing not only L.C.D.R. stock but also vehicles from other railway companies which found their way on to this line. Locos and goods vehicles may enter the range at a later date.
